Minolta 7000 was the world's first autofocus SLR
The Minolta 7000 was introduced by Minolta in 1985 and had a production run till 1988. This camera was very advanced for its time. There are several exposure modes, motorised film advance, auto-focus and a good information display.
There are a variety of exposure modes on this camera which are selected by pressing and holding the mode button while adjusting using the shutter button.
The modes offered are Program mode, Shutter priority, Aperture priority or Full manual control.
The camera is capable of 2 frames per second, which is good for the period.
The Minolta lens is 35-70mm Autofocus zoom with macro mode, the lens functions faultlessly.
The optics are of quality glass and produce very pleasing images.
Power for the camera is supplied by 4 AAA sized batteries fitted in a battery chamber in the grip.

The 7000 lens mount is the Minolta "A" mount which is in use today as Sony's Alpha mount.
Minolta 7000 AF lenses are fully compatible on the Sony Alpha mount, and Sony Alpha and Zeiss lenses for Sony Alpha likewise work great on the 7000.
